Why should I wear natural perfume?
We love natural perfume for their complexity, safety and artistry and want to share that passion. That being said, there are reasons you might want avoid conventional perfumes as well. Phthalates, which have been found to be hormone disruptors, petroleum-based synthetics, and a host of other potentially harmful chemicals are ubiquitous in most perfumes. Because fragrance is considered proprietary, the beauty industry isn’t required to disclose any of these ingredients. So we prefer to the err on the safe and beautiful side, and want to make it easier for you to do the same.
Do you have any phthalates, parabens or synthetic ingredients in your products?
Never. All of our perfumes are made from pure and natural essences. Most conventional perfumes contain very few natural ingredients, and sometimes brands that market themselves as natural aren’t. At Potion, we’ve decided to carry only perfumes with the purest of ingredients, so you’ll never find any of these worrisome ingredients in our products.

Why is natural perfume so expensive?
In short: the ingredients. The natural ingredients that go into our perfumes are far more expensive and rare than synthetics. The raw materials used in natural fragrance are some of the most expensive, and large amounts are necessary to extract a small amount of essence. Additionally with artisanal natural perfumes, you're paying for the perfume itself more so than for marketing or conventional brand-based markups.
Are your products vegan or cruelty-free?
We have a wide selection of vegan perfumes which are clearly designated within the product description. Some of our perfumes contain honey, beeswax, roasted seashells, beach-harvested ambergris and Africa stone, all of which are ethically harvested and all of our products are cruelty-free.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit cards and PayPal.
What if my order is damaged or incorrect?
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will assist you.
What is the best way to store my perfume?
We recommend storing in a cool dark place away from heat, humidity and light. This will help maintain its original state.
Do natural perfumes last as long on the skin as synthetic perfumes?
Not always. Typically natural perfumes wear for a few hours (some longer) so many will need to be reapplied since they lack the synthetic fixatives (like phthalates) that are found in most conventional perfumes. We personally love the process of reapplication rather than smelling the same perfume for over 24 hours.
Can one have an allergic reaction to natural perfume?
It is not common, but it is possible to have a reaction to the natural ingredients in our perfumes. If you experience any itching or rash after application please stop using the product immediately. We always suggest a patch test before using any new product, whether it is natural or not.
Why are some of the perfumes colored?
The natural essences found in our perfumes are typically brightly colored. When applying a natural perfume, please apply to skin caution to avoid staining any clothing or garments.
